The Global Democracy Research Network is a new and exciting initiative that aims to build, for the first time, genuinely global information flows, exchanges and partnerships among scholars and research institutes concerned with the past, present and future of democracy. Based at the University of Sydney, the new network is in its early stages. It has been inspired by SDN’s established track record in welcoming and hosting many Visiting Fellows and scholars to Sydney to deliver public lectures and seminars, and by SDN’s Annual Encounters and Democracy Futures partnership with The Conversation, a targeted platform to enable democracy researchers from a variety of disciplines to share their knowledge with a broad public audience.
