Aim Sinpeng is a Lecturer in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney. Her main research agenda is in the areas of democracy, new media and social change in Southeast Asia. She is interested in the relationship between social media and political participation and prospects for social and political change as a result of ICT advancement. Her other research interest examines the failures of democracy in the developing world. She teaches digital politics, comparative politics and social change and politics and is a regular blogger on Southeast Asia and Internet politics.
