Gergana Dimova holds a PhD in political science from Harvard University and was a Jeremy Haworth Research Fellow at St Catharine’s College at the University of Cambridge. She is currently a lecturer in politics at the University of Winchester in the UK. Her work revolves around the question: what can we learn about democracy analysing it through the prism of media allegations and government accountability? Her book monograph, titled Democracy beyond Elections: Government Accountability in the Media Age, is currently under review. Gergana’s academic articles have been published in Democratizatsiya, Observatorio, Global Media Journal and others. Her media expertise has been featured in the Atlantic Council, Huffington Post, Global Risk Insights, Bulgarian TV and radio. She is a co- editor of the Journal of Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and Societies and a consultant for the European Commission.
