Ramón Feenstra is a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló, Castellón de la Plana, Spain, with degrees in Advertising and Public Relations from the same university in 2005 and History from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in 2013.
In 2010 he gained his PhD with distinction at the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló. He is the author of Democracia monitorizada en la era de la nueva galaxia mediática (Monitory Democracy in the Era of a New Media Galaxy) (Icaria, 2012) and of Ética de la publicidad. Retos en la era digital (Ethics of Advertising. Challenges in the Digital Era) (Dykinson, 2014).
Ramón continued his research at the University of Westminster (United Kingdom, 2008), the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB) (Germany, 2009) and the University of Sydney (Australia, 2011). His research is centred on civil society, monitory democracy, new communication tools and the ethics of communication.
He is currently the co-editor of Recerca. Revista de Pensament i Anàlisi, a biannual open journal at the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló.
