Xu Chen is a China Government PhD Scholarship Fellow from Jilin University. Her research areas include the practices of deliberative democracy in local governance, citizen participation and the government’s response mechanism design, the relationship between government, the market profit organization and social organization. In particular, she analyses deliberative democracy in the Chinese and Western contexts from a comparative perspective. The research question is how to understand the generative mechanism in different cultural, theoretical, and social backgrounds.She completed her MA in public management at Jilin University. Xu Chen has also published in local journals such as The Context of Network Governance Reform of the Administration Examination and Approval System: in the Perspective of Governance Subject and Multiple Relationships.
